GSP Audio overview

GSP phono stages have won widespread acclaim in the press. When we at Origin Live checked out the performance for ourselves, we were surprised at how comprehensively they outperformed most of the competition. For anyone with an integrated amplifier, these phono stages will provide an excellent upgrade.

FOR MOVING MAGNET (MM) CARTRIDGES - The "Gram" phono stages provide RIAA equalization for all cartridge types and serve to amplify the signal to line level for MM (moving magnet) cartridges.

FOR MOVING COIL (MC) CARTRIDGESIf you have an MC (moving coil) cartridge, you can add the "Elevator EXP " head amp box to the signal path before the phono stage. This will amplify the signal of your mc cartridge to a level suitable for delivery to your phono stage. If you are on a tight budget then you can go for a single box solution called the "Fanfare" which integrates both head amp and phono box RIAA stage.

The Jazz Club is a unique RIAA phono stage because it allows you to select different RIAA equalisation for different recordings. Some older vinyl recordings used different equalization from the standard adopted in later years.

As you move up the range, the power supplies increase in size and in ability to deliver current, providing increased dynamics and bass response. The upper products also use exotic components and improved circuit design, not to mention the cosmetics.

Designer Graham Slee is a man of considerable experience in the audio field and has worked in the industry for many years in various design capacities.
